Ok, I should admit that I'm a big fan of gift cards. They are perfect for when certain family members know I like games and computers and things, but don't know what I need. They're also perfect for when I know what the person likes, but not exactly. "Hey! You like tools and stuff! Here's a gift card to a hardware store!" Saves them the trouble of returning the hammer and getting some kind of shiny drill thingy.
Anyway, with all the stores going under (Circuit City, man! Whoa! Sharper Image! Linens N' Things! Those were majors chains about 5 minutes ago!) it's probably safer to get a Visa gift card than a store-specific one.
